wishlist wednesday: mac bite of an apple blush
Like many other makeup lovers, I’ve been hearing and seeing a lot of pre-release stuff about MAC Venomous Villains in the last few weeks. I gotta say that I’m on the side that finds packaging for VV products a little boring and/or uninspiring, but I have fallen for the contents of a few items from the collection, one of them being Bite of an Apple blush, inspired by the Evil Queen from...
new earrings :3
I got a pair of cute wing earrings the other day. Today I’m wearing one on my helix. I would have tried to wear the matching earring under it, but it points in the wrong direction. The cuff on my lower helix piercing helps it stay sort of upright.
wishlist wednesday: benefit femme metale set
Exclusive and limited edition to Sephora is the new Benefit Femme Metale kit, full of shiny metallic eye makeup goodies. In this set are 3 full-size Creaseless Cream shadows and 3 new eyeliners, all of them gorgeous and totally up my alley. Considering one Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow is normally $24 CAD, $44 for this whole kit is a steal and a half. I want it! [image from Sephora] Sephora...
my love letters got lost in the mail
I really liked the colour of China Glaze Love Letters in the bottle, which I picked up at the same time as For Audrey (which I tried out a few days ago). I was expecting these kind of romantic, milky touch-of-coral pink nails. But upon opening my bottle, I was immediately disappointed by how sheer the polish looked on the brush. Still, I hoped that three coats would be enough to get the results...
fotd #12: work face
If you didn’t know, I’ve started my very first co-op work term this fall. It’s really exciting and I’m learning a lot but I have to wake up at 6 am to get ready and make the commute. This is a pretty typical “work face” for me; I usually skip liner and even eyeshadow, but I was feeling fancy today (9___9) and applied a wash of shadow on my lids. Face: ...
i finally bought china glaze for audrey
I don’t mean it was for Audrey, it’s the name of the shade :B I’ve been lusting after it for a while after seeing it on some beauty blogs. I love turquoises and teals, including this Tiffany blue-inspired polish that is bordering on them. I’m still easing into nail polish and basically any bright or non-pink colours, so I don’t know if it’s just me or if this...
wishlist wednesday: hard candy blush crush
On my US day drip, I gave these pretty baked blushes the cold shoulder because I felt bad about how much I had already spent and didn’t want to be tempted into spending more. I kind of regret it because I’ve been reading great things about it and they’re just so effing purdy. But I hear now that some Wal-marts in Canada are now carrying the Hard Candy cosmetics line, so maybe...
Decided to give the blog a makeover :) Tell me what you think?
I effing love this sweater
It’s slouchy in all the right places and ridic comfy. Excuse me while I get my inner librarian on.
what happened to us, fresh sugar lychee?
It didn’t feel like so long ago when I fell in love at first whiff with the bright and clean warmth of Fresh Sugar Lychee fragrance. It was one of my first Wishlist Wednesdays. For months, I spritzed it on every time I visited Sephora. I even played around with a rollerball before returning it because it couldn’t compare to the scent of the eau de parfum. Okay, I admit that with all...
wishlist wednesday: urban decay primer potion...
Oh, you knew this was coming. Who isn’t drooling all over UD Primer in the limited edition tube packaging? To sweeten the deal, it’s selling at $35 CAD for 0.85 oz, as opposed to the old genie bottle packaging that is $22 CAD for less than half as much (0.34 oz). Right now it looks to be online only, but it should be hitting Sephora stores shortly. [image from Sephora] Sephora,...
the explanation for "DO WANT makeup"
Recently, I showed the blog to a friend who liked it but asked, “why is it called DO WANT makeup?” I’d been thinking about making a post to explain this for a while because I’m not sure many people get the reference, and her question kind of cemented the idea. Do want comes from do not want (often used in all caps DO NOT WANT), an internet meme that was spawned by a...
review: wet n wild mega liner in turquoise
I picked up this lovely over in Washington state. Although some drugstores in Canada carry Wet n Wild, I haven’t seen this particular product around here, sadly. These liquid liners come in Black, Purple, Blue, Brown, Dark Brown, and my pick, Turquoise. I love turquoises and teals, so Turquoise was an obvious choice for me. With the exception of Blue, I think the other shades don’t...
wishlist wednesday: smashbox brow tech wax
Does this ever happen to you?: you pack up your makeup to take to a friend’s to apply for a night out and forget an essential product! D’oh! This happened to me last weekend—I forgot to bring my brow gel or brow wax pencil. I’m one of those people that don’t have well-behaved brows. The hairs just don’t go in the right direction naturally for me and my hairs...
