king endymion collab look

It turns out it’s pretty hard to find a decent picture of King Endymion D:

Alternate title: really simple smoky lavender eyes ≧Д≦

Backstory: So a handful of bloggers decided to do two Sailor Moon-inspired looks each: one after a hero/good guy and one after a villain. I joined the collab a little late in the game after my favourite characters were already taken, and I ended up rolling with the only non-Senshi of the group for the good guy look, King Endymion.

I’m not going to get too deep into my feels for Endymion, but I do love him for being the pillar that supports the future Queen Serenity and Chibi-Usa from the sidelines. He’s a quiet guide to Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask when they first arrive in Crystal Tokyo, and watches over the sleeping Senshi inside the Crystal Palace. I decided to do a smoky lavender eye in reference to his signature lavender tuxedo and his/Tuxedo Mask’s only non-rose-throwing special attack, Tuxedo La Smoking Bomber. Since his first manga appearance is as a spirit/projection, my second focus was to keep everything soft and a bit glowy (maybe too soft—in retrospect I think I overblended and lost my purple eyeliner…)

I sort of fell out of the habit of wearing eye makeup, particularly eye shadow after my laser eye surgery (off-limits for months!), so I consider this the beginning of easing back into full eye makeup again. Although fun, it is also a bit intimidating since my fellow collaborators have such a bold and interesting style when it comes to eye makeup :x
